A healthy meal starts with larger portions of vegetables and fruits, and smaller portions of proteins and grains. Dairy is also an important part of a balanced diet. Try making your daily dairy portion the beverage accompanying your meal, or add low-fat or fat-free products to your plate.

9. Take your time eating.
