Presented by Lindsey Myers of the Region’s Arrowhead branch in Montgomery, Alabama, the bikes and helmets will be stored at The Grandma Home House Retreat (TGHHR) in Waugh, Alabama for all foster children to use. The water bottles and soccer balls were given to SFH’s foster children and their foster parents at their recent Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 14. SFH’s Montgomery, Alabama regional office hosted the celebration at TGHHR’s pavilion.

The party included a brief class for foster parents that reviewed how to prevent disruption within the foster home and thus, having to leave their current foster home. The class also reviewed Erik Erikson’s Cognitive Stages of Development. The class was followed by a meal of catered and homemade dishes, including such dishes as Mac & Cheese, Baked and Fried Chicken, Blueberry Crunch and Red Velvet cake for dessert. In addition to a few doorrizes given put, each child received several Christmas gifts based on their personal wish lists. These gifts were made possible by Wilson Shaw I.T., Robert Vogel, Regions Bank, Alabama State University’s (ASU) Theatre & Performing Arts Department, the Deltas of ASU, Roy Nutt and several more donors. Thank you!
