Profile of Shakela Grant

Having worked for Seraaj Family Homes, Inc. (SFH) since April 2002, Shakela Grant has earned a leadership position in the Medicaid Billing Department as a Team Leader. She is responsible for submitting claims to Medicaid and the Alabama State Office for payment of the various services that SFH provides its clients. Grant is also responsible for processing the foster parents’ clinical notes, providing documentation for training, and for ensuring that the foster parents are compensated for the basic living skills they teach to foster children within their homes. 

Her professional background in finance has provided her with valuable experience in billing, payroll, record keeping, customer service, Medicaid and training via Medicaid guidelines, Prior to her employment with SFH, Grant strengthened her resume through working as a Bank Loan File Clerk in Wetumpka, Alabama; and by working as a Data Entry Clerk for EDS Federal Student Loan in Montgomery, Alabama. Later, Grant attended Leeward Community College while working as an Office Clerk at Mililani Town Association in O’ahu, Hawaii before moving to Alabama to work for SFH.

While at SFH, Gran also earned a leadership role on the Continuous Quality Improvement team, on which she strives for the ongoing enhancement of excellence of the Billing Department and for the whole organization.

Grant plans to continue working for SFH while pursuing a collegiate degree.
